| 3/4 cup sugar |
| 2/3 cup shortening |
| 1/2 tsp grated orange peel |
| 1 egg |
| 1/2 tsp vanilla extract |
| 4 tsp whole milk |
| 2 cups flour |
| 1 1/2 tsp baking powder |
| 1/4 tsp salt |
Sugar Cookies Directions
- Cream shortening, sugar, orange peel, and vanilla. Add egg; beat until light and fluffy. Stir in milk.
- Sift together dry ingredients; blend in creamy mixture.
- Divide dough in half and chill one hour.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll sugar dough to 1/4 inch and cut in desired shapes with cutters.
- Bake on greased coolie sheet at 375 degrees about 6 to 8 minute. Cool slightly; remove from pan. Cool completely on rack.
