Ingredients

Ingredients list

1 pound ground turkey
1/2 cup onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/3 cup peanut oil
1 package broccoli slaw (16 ounce), shredded
1/3 cup szechuan stir-fry sauce
1/3 teaspoon five-spice powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic-pepper
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
2 cups monterey jack cheese, shredded
10 10-inch flour tortillas, warmed

Oriental Burritos Directions

  1. In a large skillet, cook turkey, onion and garlic until turkey is browned and onions are tender. Drain fat.
  2. Place turkey mixture in a large bowl.
  3. In same skillet, heat one tablespoon of the peanut oil, then add broccoli slaw and stir fry for 2 minutes.
  4. Stir broccoli slaw, 1/3 cup stir-fry sauce, five-spice, garlic pepper, and celery salt into meat mixture.
  5. Stir in shredded cheese.
  6. Spoon about 3/4 cups filling onto each slightly warmed tortilla. Fold each tortilla like a burrito with closed ends then secure with toothpicks.
  7. Heat remaining oil in skillet. Oil should be at least 1/2" deep.
  8. Cook 2-3 burritos at a time in oil over medium heat until golden brown. Rotate as needed to cook all sides and ends.
  9. Drain and cool on paper towels. Serve with side of stir-fry sauce for dipping.

Recipe notes

If szechuan sauce is too spicy for you, try mixing 50% szechuan and 50% regular stir-fry sauce for a medium heat level or just use regular stir-fry sauce for a mild heat level.
