Ingredients

Ingredients list

2 cans minced clams
2 cups diced potatoes
2 cups diced carrots
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup flour
1 quart half-n-half
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground sage

Clam Chowder Directions

  1. Strain clam juice into large pot and add all veggies.
  2. Add just enough water to cover veggies, then boil for 15-20 minutes.
  3. In a separate pan, melt butter then add flour. Cook for a few minutes then add half-n-half; stir constantly until it boils.
  4. Remove from heat, add cooked veggies, clams, spices then heat up until warm.

Recipe notes

If you can't find good clams you can use shrimp instead along with some clam-juice for that authentic flavor.
