1 1/2 pound ground beef
1 can (28 ounce) whole tomatoes
1 can (28 ounce) chili beans
1 large green pepper, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon salt (salt to taste)
1 can tomato paste (optional)

Heidi's Texas Chili Directions

  1. Brown ground beef and drain.
  2. Mix together all ingredients in slow cooker, cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, stirring occasionally.
  3. Thicken with tomato paste as desired.
  4. Serve hot, topped with diced onions and shredded cheddar cheese. Don't forget the corn bread.
