Ingredients

1 pork shoulder
3 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tbsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 bottle BBQ sauce (bourbon BBQ sauce or your favorite)
2 tbsp bourbon hot sauce (if you have it, otherwise, your favorite)
1 can beer or Dr. Pepper (or other favorite soda)

Bourbon Pulled Pork Directions

  1. 1. Mix all spices together in a bowl
  2. 2. On a large baking sheet rub the spices all over the pork shoulder. Wrap the pork in plastic wrap and let it sit in the fridge for a few hours
  3. 3. Place the pork in a slow cooker, pour the liquid of your choice in, and cook on low for 8 hours. Or 75 minutes in a pressure cooker on high. Naturally release the steam for 20 minutes
  4. 4. Pull top layer of fat off pork and place on a baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes on 350 degrees
  5. 5. Mix the hot sauce and BBQ sauce together
  6. 6. Once the pork is done, shred and put it in a large bowl. Mix in the BBQ sauce and enjoy
